ANNA EGHOLM
Anna Egholm was born in 1996 and started playing the violin at age 5. Her teacher since 2003 is Alexandre Zapolski.
Anna has won numerous Danish and international prizes. In 2007 she won “Sigurd og Symfoniorkesterets Musikskolepris 2007” and played several concerts all over Denmark together with The Danish National Symphony Orchestra. She also toured in several European countries with Hotel Proforma as an actress and violin player.
In the 2008 “Jacob Gades Violinkonkurrence, Vejle” she won first prize and the prize for 'best performance of Danish music’; she was Semifinalist in “Talent 2008” and in 2009 she won 1. prize in “Berlingske Musikkonkurrence”.
Also in 2009 she was selected “Best foreign musical talent” in Moskva and also won “Øresunds Solist 2009”. Later that year she won DRs “Spil for Livet” playing a.o. Beethoven’s Violin Concerto with The Danish National Symphony Orchestra.
She was soloist with Malmø Symfoniorkester in April 2010 and received “Jacob Gades three year scholarship” in 2011. She won gold medal in “Berlingske Musikkonkurrence 2012” – playing Eugène Ysaÿe: "Caprice d'après l'Étude en forme de valse de Saint-Saëns”.
In 2013 she became overall winner of “Jacob Gades Violinkonkurrence” and also won first place and Judges' Distinction Award in the American Protege competition “International Music Talent Competition 2013”.
She was also first place winner in the American Protege “International Competition of Romantic Music 2013” and following that she has played twice in Carnegie Hall in March 2014. In April 2014 Anna won “Nordisk Solistkonkurrence” and played as a solist with Bergen Philharmonic Orcheatra. In June she plays a concert with Malmø Symfoniorkester.
Anna is playing an Italian violin – a Gagliano from 1763 – sponsored by the Augustinus Foundation.
